Since being laid off because of the pandemic, I have taken this time to pursue making videos, writing, and learning.
For the most part, I've made strides in that I have been paid to do video, I have sat down, put my "butt in chair," and wrote several short scripts and articles. Let's face it, 2020 has been a terrible year. But we persevere, and one of the ways to do that is finding something to hope for and can make our lives better.
The mission of CINEMATIKS for me is following a process that will improve my skills and, in turn, open that door to where I stop hoping and start doing. The pressure is on.
This world is upside down. And this means there are no rules, but also remembering that nothing is guaranteed.
During this time, I am doing all that I can to try and make some guarantees.
Practicing, learning, patient, and believing are the only currencies I'm receiving right now.
All of those things I can learn and grow from not only on my own, but getting hired by a company doing video, but so far, I haven't made strides in that area.
Do you find yourself in the same situation? How are you coping?
For me, CINEMATIKS is my coping mechanism. It's my online mental recording of this time of where I'm at, what I'm learning, how I'm growing.
All of these things I look at as keys unlocking doors. How to do that is a mystery I am trying to unravel and solve.
